Each February, traditional drumming and dance set a rhythmic tone for two days of continuous live entertainment, while an impressive line-up of Northwest artists take jazz, rap, gospel, Hop-Hop, R&B and traditional African styles to new heights. Lets head over to the Basset Bash and find out which hounds win. Bags of dog food, doggie sweaters and rosette ribbons are handed out to the dog with the best howl, the longest ears, the most freckles, and the most foolish human. There are 22 divisions to enter Driftwood, Flotsam, Jetsam, and Photography (coastal scenes).
This outstanding African-American cultural arts celebration is produced by the Sundiata African American Cultural Association and Seattle Center's Festal. First come tumblers, unicycles, and marching bands, and then comes the Basset Brigade. Ribbons and cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be presented to the winners in each division.
